Ullapool Day 1



OUGS North West Ullapool Trip May 2002

MONDAY 6th
Drive from Ullapool to Loch Assynt - examine the rocks along the NE shore road. Drive on to Lochinver for lunch, then a walk around to discuss the use of the geological resources. Return to Loch Assynt to complete the traverse alongside the loch.

Infilled burrows in the quartzite give this rock its name of &quotThe Pipe Rock".

Some burrows are sharply truncated at an errosional surface; others show conical tops where the worm was feeding.
